Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that when I try to push myself to learn new things or take on challenges, my nervous system gets overwhelmed, making it hard to stay consistent. What are some effective strategies for calming your nervous system while still pushing yourself to grow and improve?
Most people get stuck because they treat overwhelm as a reason to stop. Instead—here is the trick—you learn to get curious about what feeling overloaded actually is, right in the moment. Not indulging it, not judging it, just noticing. Let your nervous system freak out and yet continue; the storm passes quicker than you think. Deliberately add small moments where you slow your breathing, but do not treat calm as some prize you need to earn before you can act. Real growth is awkward. Nothing is owed to you except the next step forward.
